BRAVE Takes Aim at MADAGASCAR 3
June 25th, 2012
Pixar’s hot streak continues as it had yet another one of their movies open up number one at the box office with Brave. The animated film made $66.8 million, beating Madagascar 3 by almost $30 million, which earned $35.5 million. Still pretty respectable in a film’s third week of release.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter came in third in its debut with $16.5 million, not too shabby considering the film had no major stars attached to it. Prometheus dropped down to fourth place with $10 million. I think the negative buzz about Ridley Scott’s latest film is hurting its subsequent box office returns. And bringing up the rear in fifth place is Rock of Ages, which made $8 million and continues to be a dismal failure.
