Still Thinking Like a Winner
The film adaptation of Steve Harvey’s book Think Like a Man continued to think about dollar signs fending off Pirates to maintain first place. Think Like a Man brought in $18 million this weekend and continues to surpass all expectations. Good year so far for Lionsgate.
.
The Pirates! Band of Misfits, the animated film from the same people who brought us Wallace and Gromit came in second place with $11.4 million. Third place belonged the sappy romance flick starring Zac Efron, The Lucky One, which just narrowly beat out The Hunger Games with $11.3 million. The Hunger Games came in fourth place and has now officially grossed enough money to make it one of the richest people in the world adding another $11.2 million to its total.
.
The biggest surprise of the weekend has to be the disappointing debut of Jason Siegel/Judd Apatow’s Five Year Engagement. Being heavily promoted as “From the Producers of Bridesmaids” didn’t seem to work in its favor as the film only grossed $11.2 million.
