‘The Lone Ranger’ Has a Dastardly Villain

Singer-turned-actor Dwight Yoakam has just been cast opposite Armie Hammer (The Social Network) in Gore Verbinski’s adaptation of the classic TV/radio serial. The jury remains out on whether this is going to be a worthwhile flick or not, but Verbinski and production company got a big boost from their Jack Sparrow Johnny Depp signing on to play “Tonto.”

He would play Butch Cavendish, the leader of his own gang—Cavendish gang.  Other actors in negotiations to start are Barry Pepper and Helena Bonham Carter.
