Bodily Fluids Reign Supreme at Box Office

I’m guessing it was the “Poo-cano” that made Jackass 3D number one at the box office this weekend, obliterating the competition with an estimated $50 million.  At the risk of being pigeon-holed as an immature moron, I kind of like the Jackass movies.  Sure, some of it crosses the boundary of funny into sickening, but there’s something inherently humorous about these nutcases abusing their bodies to no end.  The one thing you have to have to give these guys is that they live up to their name.  They truly are “jackasses.”  That being said, I like much of America, am curious to see what lengths these jackasses will go to having access to top of the line 3D cameras.  They must being doing something right as they broke the record for the highest opening weekend in October ever, surpassing Scary Movie 3 which held the record with $48.1 million.

Coming in second this weekend was Old Dogs with guns and explosions, better known as RED.  Based on a DC comic, the film starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Dame Helen Mirren didn’t do too shabby in its own right, raking in $22.5 million in its debut.  Don’t know too much about this movie, but I plan on waiting for the “red” envelope in my mailbox for this one.

Rounding out the top five were The Social Network with $11 million bringing its three week total to $ 63.1 million, Secretariat coming in fourth with $9.5 million, and Life as We Know It with $9.2 million.
