‘The Gathering’ Gathers All-Star Team of Horror Icons
Being touted as the largest ensemble of horror actors ever, The Gathering has just added Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees), Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface), and Judith O’Dea (Night of the Living Dead) to a cast that already includes Udo Kier (Blade), Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), William Sadler (The Mist) and has Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger).
.
On All Hallows Eve, the Devil has gathered four of the greatest horror writers of all time Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft and Mary Shelley – to share their untold scariest story in hopes of winning the evening’s prize; the opportunity to leave purgatory forever.
.
I’m very curious to see what they do with this premise. It could either be really cool, or it could turn out like the horror version of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. We’ll have to wait till probably 2011 or 2012 however since production isn’t even scheduled to get underway till later this year or early 2011.
.
The Gathering is being directed by Jon Keeyes, written by Carl Kirshner and produced by Mark Heidelberger and Jesse Felsot of Treasure Entertainment.

Maybe this is the opportunity Bruce Campbell needs to make his Horror Expendables? Campbell would be a great Poe too I think.
